After years of meaningful work with Kicking Horse Coffee, Paragraph owners Scott and Nicole traded boardrooms and business for backpacks and boots. They took a hiatus, travelling with their young son and daughter, on a family adventure that circled the globe. What they found on their journey reshaped how they saw home: the best places make people feel curious, connected and alive. 

Paragraph Mercantile is their next chapter. It’s a modern general store born from those travels, built to bring a little wonder back home. And to offer the fresh takes that make the everyday ordinary, well, a little more extraordinary. 

We're a general goods shop, tucked in the downtown of Invermere BC, near the Rocky Mountains.

We're stocked with things worth discovering — household staples, curious finds, and everything in between.

Role details, in a nutshell:

You'll be a core part of how Paragraph runs day to day. That means opening and closing the shop, keeping inventory accurate and tidy, processing shipments and new stock, and showing up for our customers in a real unscripted, down-to-earth manner.

Our customers range from neighbours and locals to international travellers who wander in; and we deliver a great experience to all.

 You’re available to work weekends and follow through on scheduled commitments.

What we offer:

A lively, friendly shop environment, a team that genuinely likes coming to work, and the chance to be part of something that feels a little different from the average retail gig.

We're small, which means you’ll be part of something more than what’s in store.

Wage: Starting at $19 - $22 / hour depending on experience.

Perks: Generous in-store discounts.

Schedule: Available Saturdays and Sundays. Weekdays dependent on availability and business volumes.

Hours: 9:30am – 5:30pm daily, except for Sundays 10:30am - 4:30pm.

Start Date: Mid September.
